This isn’t how our story ends.

No. This murder we’ve just committed?

This is how our story truly begins . . .

I told myself I was going to save her.

I didn’t realize what a lie that was.

This neurosis has sunk in too deep. All it took was one glimpse of another man inside her for the beast that murdered Barnard to finish consuming me.

  I’ve turned her into killer.

  Just like me.

With every corroded, toxicity-infested sin laid bare between us, all that’s left is revenge.

And the chasm of diabolical need that tethers us.

A need to consume each other.

A need to make our enemies pay.

They stole seven years from us. Every ounce of sanity we had left.

Now, we’re going to steal everything from them.

Most of all, we won’t stop until every single one of them is dead.

I told myself I was going to save Lexi . . . in reality, I’ve finished ruining her.

And she would have it no other way.

Warning: this series is not for everyone. As the story progresses, dark themes are explored that might be a trigger for some. Please read at your own discretion. Definitely 18+.

  prologue

g runting breaths in my ear.

Piercing, dry pain with every shove inside me.

His face is mere centimeters from my own, teeth imbedded in my jaw.

  Pain.

That’s all there ever is with him.

  Unending agony.

“Moan for me.” His demand is harsh onto my abused skin. As harsh as the next shove he gives inside me.

My skin tears. It’s the first of many to come. He breaks me every single time.

And just like every single time, I refuse to acknowledge the injury.

Refuse to react to his commands.

My hair is pulled, strands ripping from my head.

  His teeth sink in deeper.

  Harder.

It doesn’t matter. He can mark me all he wants. No one aside from my mother and her medical team will see it.

No one sees his pretty little prisoner kept locked at the top of this skyscraper, hidden in his technological cave.

“Fucking moan for me, Lexi. Before I make you scream.” Another shove. Another tear. My body is nothing but a limp rag doll in his brutal hold.

My eyes? Deadened. Locked straight ahead.

I haven’t fought him in years. Not since that first rape. I let him have it whenever he wants now.

But this is the only way. He wants my body? He bought it. He owns it. What he doesn’t own is me, and that’s why he has no choice but to fuck the numb, unreactive woman in his grasp.

  Until he snaps.

Which he does every time, as well.

Oh, I know he’ll wrench those screams out of me one way or the other. History has already proven that as a fact.

He’ll have to. I won’t give in any other way.

Teeth sink into my neck next. The throbbing, fiery length hammering between my legs presses deep.

Then, out of nowhere, two fingers are shoved inside a place no one’s been before, stretching me to the point that I feel a brand new, unbearable tearing of skin—

  I’m screaming, struggling.

  Crying.

In the background, he throws his head back with a satisfied groan, those light brown eyes narrowing with bliss.

  And he fucks me harder.

  In my pussy.

  In my ass.

  Breaking me.

  Wrecking me.

When he comes, his screams are even louder than mine. A triumphant savage taking what he owns by force.

  chapter 1

h e tried to rape her.

He was raping her, his cock inside her when I barged in.

  Inside her.

  My Lexi.

And now he’s dead at our feet.

I allowed her to help me kill him.

I’ve made her an accomplice to murder.

My mind is in shambles, racing through
one idea after the idea. What’s the quickest way to get her out of here? To get her far from the crime scene before anyone realizes her presence?

Hospital. She needs a fucking hospital.

On a quick spin, I face her.

Small, soft hands frame my face, bringing my head down to her level.

  Gray.

All I see is that shining, beautiful gray I lived seven years of my life dying to see again.

“You saved me.” My baby’s so close that her pillowy lips ghost across my own with that whisper and a lick of pure heat ignites in my gut. “Drew, you—”

“Baby.” Closing my eyes, fighting to push back this raging, inconvenient lust, I grab her delicate wrists. The hands on my face are the same hands that held down Asad’s wrists. That helped me immobilize him as the breath left his body.

Right after I caught him slamming into hers against her will.

“We need to get you out of here. Need to get you medical—”

  “Drew.”

That horny whisper is the only warning I get before her lips are on mine, perfect, satin flesh.

  Twisted, addicting desire.

Like a kick to the gut every goddamn time.

I open my mouth, her name a muffled plea.

Her tongue—that sinuous, delicious tongue—snakes its way into my mouth, obliterating everything but this vicious lust in a single swipe.

Groaning into her mouth, I slide one hand down her back.

Behind her, Asad’s dead body is a dark blur in my peripheral.

Lexi’s arms are a tight vice around my neck. Her body a writhing, inviting hell. She whimpers into my mouth at the feel of my rabid cock.

  She’s mad with need. Frantic.

And she’s trying to pull me down into that vortex with her, even as I know how misplaced this reaction is right now.

  “Lex—”

“Take me, Drew.” Her teeth nip at my lip.

My fucking heart pounds so viciously I swear my chest is about to explode open. Too many years without her, too many years wanting this.

Now, when she needs me to grab control and do right by her the most, I’m failing her beyond repair.

We kiss harder. Deeper. She makes these wild little noises that make my erection kick angrily against her.

I’m no better. I sound like a grunting madman against her lips. If anyone happens to walk by, they’re going to think I’m balls-deep in her already.

In two seconds, she’s going to be up on that counter with my dick spurting in that needy cunt.

He was fucking raping her. She’s traumatized. STOP.

  Another attempt at pulling away.

Lexi growls like some straight up lioness, her fingers clutching at my dress shirt. Trailing down my abs. Inching closer to the source of all my pain.

A snarl echoes in my throat and I barely manage to catch her small wrist on time. Her confusion when I manage to put distance between us knifes me in the gut.

  I know what it means.

How far gone into this break in her psyche she must be.

She’s forgotten all about Asad. That he’s lying dead less than a foot behind her.

  “Andrew!”

Just as I’m about to respond to her, someone knocks on the door.

Horror blankets the moment, snapping her back to reality.

I place my finger on my lips, reminding her to stay quiet. Letting go of her, I step up to the door and call out, “Just a minute!”

“Drew? It’s you in there? Is everything alright?”

Arctic bitterness floods the bathroom at the tone of that voice.

The muscles of my back ripple and tense, but I don’t turn back to Lexi. No need to. Her silent fury continues to suck the heat right out of the room.

And if I don’t open this door and address the newcomer, I might not be able to buy us the time we need to get out of this bathroom before we’re discovered.

Before Menahan stumbles upon this and uses it to his fucking advantage.

I open the door enough to leave just an inch of space and peek out.

  As expected, it’s Maureen.

  Or is her name Arlene?

Can’t remember but she’s the arm candy Stephen chose to flaunt in front of Lexi tonight. A strategically picked blow guaranteed to wound her in the worst way possible.

And it did. So much that she ran from me. Ran from Mateo.

  That’s how Asad cornered her.

Blue eyes trail over me, no doubt picking up on my swollen lips. For all I know, Lexi’s makeup is all over me, but I don’t give a fuck.

“As you can see, everything is perfectly alright. I’d appreciate if you gave us some privacy.”

There’s a quick, viper-like flash of jealousy, buts it’s covered up in less than a second. Silicone-injected lips curl into a lazy smile. “Let me join you. Just like old times.”

Yet another blow to my Lexi. I know she heard that. The temperature in the room somehow drops even more.

Menahan sent this little bitch to look for us. I’ll bet my soul. What both of them don’t know is that they just added whatever-her-name-is to my list.

She’ll pay for the extra agony she just heaped on my Lexi.

“Go back to Menahan. I have all I’ll ever want and need.” The door is closed in her face.

Lexi’s standing by the sink, eyes locked on the dead body at our feet. His tan skin is already turning blue and there’s a clear palm imprint around his neck.

  My palm.

And a DNA swab will probably find traces of Lexi’s skin or sweat around his wrists.

  That body needs to disappear.

  Permanently.

I open my mouth to tell Lexi she needs to go find Mateo—

Injured, bleeding-with-emotion eyes land on me. “So, you’ll fuck all of them but you won’t fuck me?”

  Son of a bitch.

A fresh wave of fury blasts up my spine and I storm to her, fisting her hair. “You were just raped, Lexi.”

“He only got one thrust in.”

She’s nonchalant about this. Too much. In the back of my mind I know why.

  This isn’t her first rodeo.

Blood thirst reignites, demanding I find Stephen. That I make him suffer a million times more than his best friend did as those dogs mauled him apart. “We need to get out of here. Dispose the body. Then I need to get you checked up.”

Her kiss-swollen lips part in protest.

Hissing, near mad, I tug her to me. “Once that’s all done, Lexi, you’re coming home with me. And there I’m taking you. Every part of you.” My lips ghost along hers. “Your body . . . your truth. We’re fucking this out. And once we’re done, we’re talking this out. You feel me?”

No matter what happens tonight she’s going to tell me the truth of what Stephen did to her. All of it. She’s going to confess why she’s okay after being raped and killing a man.

After that, if the doctor gives me the go ahead, she’s all mine. I’m just enough of a desperate bastard to take her on the same night she was abused.

After tonight, she’ll never doubt who I belong to again.

  chapter 2

h er nonchalance grates on my sanity. The blankness in her stare. Mateo calls me to locate where we are, finally awake after Lexi drugged him, and he arrives minutes after with a discreet knock on the door.

Finn’s already been contacted. I want all the security feeds for tonight scrambled.

  Every single one.

No one will be able to piece together what happened here. I won’t allow it.

It isn’t just about protecting myself anymore. Tonight was the last time I allowed harm to come to Lexi.

Mateo doesn’t even blink when he steps in and sees the body.

Which is why I hired him. This is only the second life I’ve taken—third, counting what I did to my father—but when I began searching for a bodyguard eight months ago, I knew I’d need someone flexible.

  Someone willing to get their
hands dirty as well as keep shit to themselves.

“We need to get the body loaded into your car and away from here. Obviously, no one can see,” I inform him in a low voice.

I get a nod and then he’s making his way to where Asad’s corpse lies.

“I’m really sorry,” Lexi whispers to Mateo. The contrition in her voice is a welcome break from her apathy.

But when I face her again, her expression’s as flat as before. Eyes locked on the wall.

  She won’t look at me.

Mateo leans to lift Asad’s body as another knock sounds on the door. My phone pings and I see a message from Finn.

Finn: cameras are down. Get out here. The hallway won’t be empty for long. Also? WHAT THE FUCK, MAN?

I almost don’t want to open the door.

Wrapping my hand around Lexi’s fingers, I share a last nod with Mateo and exit.

Finn’s eyes flash over Lexi, concerned.

That is, until Mateo steps out with the dead man draped over his shoulder.

“What the fuck?” he hisses at me.

“Get Mateo’s car and meet him off the property. We’re leaving to pick up mine.”

Finn catches the keys Mateo throws at him. With one last glare, he leaves us.

It isn’t the end of this. I’ll be lucky if he ever lets it go.

Mateo makes his exit seconds after, heading down the opposite side of the hall.

I’ll just have to trust him to not get caught.

Lexi’s hand is limp in mine, her demeanor back to that infuriating calm, her gaze vacant.

Fuck. How bad is this going to break her?

When the full extent of the trauma sets in, will she be able to handle the weight of it?

“Talk to me,” I urge her as I begin leading her back to the stairs.

“Is it obvious what we were doing?” she asks, surprising me.

  My eyes trail over her.

The neat waves of her hair are now a mess. Not enough to look indecent, but it’s obvious someone had their hands in it.

Only it wasn’t just me. Before I located her thanks to the nanotracker I injected into her—the one she knows nothing about—it was Asad who had her in his grip.
